Day 26 – Friday 9th February 2018 – Magically Transform Mistakes into Blessings

Start the day

Write down 10 new Blessings and why you are grateful for them. Read each one repeating “thank you, thank you, thank you“, feeling gratitude for each one.

We all make mistakes

We all make and have made mistakes in our lives. That is a fairly common aspect of life. It is also commonly said that we should learn from our mistakes. This is sometimes easier said than done. It is not always obvious what the lesson is to be learned from a mistake.

How do we change a mistake into blessings? By using Gratitude.

Besides using gratitude to attract more of what we are grateful for into our lives, we can also use gratitude to change mistakes into blessings. How wonderful to know that instead of mistakes causing us to be unhappy or in discomfort, they can be a source of blessings. Using gratitude in this manner means that our lives will be free of mistakes and full of blessings. We will have nothing to feel bad, sad or disappointed about.

When we change a mistake into blessings through gratitude we are actually doing a number of things. Firstly we are owning the mistake and accepting it. Secondly we are finding the lessons to be learned from the mistake. Thirdly we are practicing gratitude. Fourthly, we are  forgiving ourselves through our acceptance of having made that mistake. And lastly, because some mistakes can haunt us and continue to hurt us and cloud our lives, we are freeing ourselves from the negative energy of those mistakes.

Think of one mistake you have made that you feel bad about

Think of one particular mistake you have made which is still bothering you.  List of ten good things arising from making that mistake. No matter how bad, awful or devastating that mistake was. By using your strengthening ability to find things to be grateful for, you will find blessings even in your worst mistakes.

To help you find blessings in a mistake Rhonda Byrne says there are two questions to ask yourself.

  • What did I learn from the mistake?
  • What are the good things that came out of the mistake?
Rhonda Byrne used the example of being caught speeding in her car.
  1. I’m grateful to the police for wanting to protect me from harming myself, because after all, that was all they were trying to do.
  2. I am thankful for the police because if I am honest with myself, I was thinking about other things, and I wasn’t concentrating on the road.
  3. I’m grateful to the police because I foolishly put myself at risk speeding with a tire I needed to replace.
  4. I am thankful for the wake-up call. Being pulled over did affect me and it will make me watch my speed and drive more carefully in the future.
  5. I’m grateful to the police because somehow I had a wild idea that I could speed without getting caught, and without putting myself and others in danger.
  6. I am grateful to the police because if I think about my own family being put in danger by other speeding drivers, then I definitely want the police to stop speeding drivers.
  7. I’m really grateful to the police for the work they do in trying to ensure the safety of every person and family on the roads.
  8. I am grateful to the police. They must see heartbreaking situations every day. All they’re trying to do is protect my life and my family’s life.
  9. I’m grateful to the police for making sure that I arrived home safely.
  10. I am grateful to the police because of all the possible consequences that could have stopped me from my speeding, the police pulling me over was the least harmful consequence. It could have been the biggest blessing of my life.
Use this practice on your past mistakes and any new mistakes you might make

Take any mistakes you have made in your life that you still feel bad about. Use this practice on each one. You can do this over a few days if you wish.

Going forward, whenever you make a mistake in your day-to-day life, follow this same process. By doing this you will prevent the pain, guilt or disappointment and negative energy from clouding your life. You will accept, learn and be able to move on, happier, wiser and in power of gratitude.

End the day

When you go to bed tonight hold your Magic Rock in your hand. Close your fingers around it and feel it. Think of all the good things that have happened today. Choose the best good thing that happened and, feeling as grateful as you can, say “thank you, thank you, thank you“.
