Start the day
Write down 10 new Blessings and why you are grateful for them. Read each one repeating “thank you, thank you, thank you“, feeling gratitude for each one.
Today is the last day of our Journey to Gratitude. A Journey of Gratitude practices we can use to make Gratitude an integral part of our lives.
We have learned how to practice Gratitude on our present daily lives and circumstances. We have focused Gratitude on our future. Tasks and events planned, dreams and wishes for the future. And we have been able to remember experiences, places and people in the past for which to be grateful.
We humans view our lives in three definite stages of time. We remember the past, experience the present and we look to the future. Because of this it is important to exercise gratitude in all these stages. That ensures that gratitude is infused throughout our lives in our minds.
Today we are simply going to look back over the day before and make a list of everything that occurred for which to be grateful.
These can be small things or big things and Rhonda Byrne says a good way to start this is by asking yourself, “What are the good things that happened yesterday?”
As you remember and list yesterdays blessings, for each one, say and feel a simple “thank you“. You can make detailed entries explaining why you feel grateful if you want, or you can just make a basic list.
This practice will remind you that there are always things for which to be grateful in your past. A past which was your future and your present at some time.
Think of yourself as a wheel. You are the axle, in the centre. As the wheel is turning there is the future, for which you can be grateful in advance. As the wheel carries on turning, the future becomes the present and as you experience the present you feel grateful for what is now. The wheel turns, present moves on and becomes the past, for which again you find things for which to be grateful.
The gratitude you feel for yesterday, today and tomorrow all merge together into one continuous circle of gratitude surrounding your life.
End the day
When you go to bed tonight hold your Magic Rock in your hand. Close your fingers around it and feel it. Think of all the good things that have happened today. Choose the best good thing that happened and, feeling as grateful as you can, say “thank you, thank you, thank you“.
