Journey to Gratitude – Wrap Up

The Journey

The reason we started this 28 day Journey to Gratitude was to become more mindful and consciously aware.

This journey has taught us to be more aware of every moment, every experience, everything around us, everything within us, everything that is part of who we are. And to be grateful for it all.

For Gratitude to become a habit we need to set in motion a pattern of behavior which can be described as “gratitude-inclined” behavior. Where at all times and in all situations we look to the gratitude that is deserved or warranted. Gratitude not only to be expressed but also to be felt.

What we have learned

We have learned, and experienced, that being aware and grateful makes us happier, and so much more appreciative of everything in our lives.

We have also learned that through the Law of Attraction, The Power and Energy of the Feeling of Gratitude will attract more into our lives for which to be grateful.

As Rhonda Byrne says, this 28 day journey is the foundation on which to build the rest of our lives.

You can take whatever you have learned, or whatever resonated with you, as your foundation to a life of gratitude.

These are some of the things that we will take with us going forward.

We start every day with gratitude and count our blessings. It does not matter if we feel truly grateful for some of the same things every morning. As long as we really feel it.

We end every day in gratitude and are thankful for all the good things that happened during the day. We keep our Gratitude Stones next to our bed to remind us. And they are small enough to carry with us in our pockets to remind us to be grateful during our day.

We walk barefoot kissing the ground with our toes, giving thanks to the earth for all its blessings.

During our yoga and meditation we focus on gratitude, either generally or for specific things.

We give thanks at mealtimes to Mother Earth for the resources. The hands that have labored for these resources and the hands that have prepared our meal.

We sprinkle magic dust on each other often during the day to be grateful and be thankful for the things we do for each other.

We are consciously aware of the little things. Of people that make a difference in our everyday lives that we need to thank and be grateful to.

We keep visual reminders and practice gratitude in advance for our wishes and wants.

We take time to stand outside in the fresh air, feel the sun and the breeze, hear the sounds and see the colours of this magnificent life and universe and be thankful for it all.

When we find ourselves enjoying a moment, a meal, a movie, time together or with friends, or just having fun, we remind each other to be thankful.

Thank Yourself

In parting, remember to always be grateful to yourself whenever you look in a mirror. You are the most important person in your life. Thank yourself for that.

Rhonda Byrne also says to keep gratitude alive, going forward, by focusing on specific areas and the practices which correspond to those areas of our lives. If we wish to focus on our health, for example, or our relationships, our desires and wishes or our wealth, to refer back to the relevant chapters and you can even combine a few practices into one day to increase your gratitude.

In closing, Rhonda Byrne says Gratitude Is the Answer

“Gratitude is the cure for broken or difficult relationships, for lack of health or money, and for unhappiness. Gratitude eliminates fear, worry, grief, and depression, and brings happiness, clarity, patience, kindness, compassion, understanding, and peace of mind. It brings
solutions to problems, and the opportunities and wherewithal to realize your dreams.

Gratitude is behind every success, and it opens the door to new ideas and discoveries, as the great scientists Newton and Einstein proved. Imagine if every scientist followed in their footsteps; the world would be propelled into new territories of understanding, growth, and advancement. Current limits would be broken, and life-altering discoveries would be made in technology, physics, medicine, psychology, astronomy, and every scientific field.

If gratitude became a mandatory subject in schools, we would see a generation of children who would advance our civilization through spectacular accomplishments and discoveries, obliterating disagreements, ending wars, and bringing peace to the world. The nations who will lead the world in the future are the ones whose leaders and people are the most grateful. The gratitude of a nation’s people would cause their country to thrive and become rich, would cause illnesses and disease to drastically drop, businesses and production to escalate, and happiness and peace to sweep the nation. Poverty would disappear, and there would not be a single person in hunger,
because a grateful nation could never allow it to exist.

The more people who discover gratitude’s magical power, the faster it will sweep the world, and cause a gratitude revolution.”

Thank You, thank you, thank you
