Koh Samui Wednesday 29th March 2017 Day 2

ITINERARY FOR THE DAY

Long walk along Moo road and hailed our first Songthaew ride back to the Hotel. Songthaews are taxis which travel up and down the roads on the island picking up and dropping off passengers. You wave one down, tell the driver your destination, haggle a bit over the price and off you go.

Day walk along the beach and a fantastic lunch at the Choengmon Beach Hotel Restaurant.

Meet and Greet with Ashleigh from the TEFL school and learnt more about the Thai culture, places of interest and how to get around Koh Samui.

Visited the Weekly Wednesday night street market on Moo road where Mandy bought a lovely backpack and experienced bartering for the first time successfully. From 650 Baht down to 300 Baht. (R125.00).

Mandy’s first bartering success

Late night Cocktails at the Lucky Shaker Sports Bar. (All cocktails during happy hour 89 BAHT) and very yummy.

Midnight swim in the sea and then in the Hotel pool before eventually calling it a night at 2 am in the morning.

 HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY

The refreshing and relaxing midnight swim in the sea.  (Besides Mandy humming to the tune of JAWS). LOL – As the waves are very gentle, one can float on the water and look up at the sky and watch the stars in all their magnificence.  The water is warm and calm but very salty.  On the walk back to our room, we had a final swim in the pool and chatted about our day and reminisced about how far we have come over the past year.  We realized that we are living our dream.  How amazing is that!  We thanked the Power and Spirit of our universe. The Power of light and time and the Power of the stars.  We thanked the Great Phoenix and the Creator of all things. Namaste’.

DISCOVERIES OF THE DAY

Camembert and Strawberry Filled Buns.

  1. I hated bartering in Hong Kong and China. Always felt I was taking the food out of their mouths. Haha, learnt very quickly with Michelle by my side. Enjoy, lief jou.
