And so the journey continues for Amethyst and Sapphire, from a somewhat steady stream, they find themselves going through a few unexpected twists and turns.
After a challenging but steady 6 weeks, Amethyst’s canoe, hit some rapids spinning her in a 360 degree circle. After setting up the structure for the Kindergarten Department, she was thanked for her positive contribution but informed that her services were no longer required. Maybe it was time to reflect on the reasons she embarked on this journey in the first place. Definitely not to follow a time-consuming career path or a daily 7:00 to 7:00 grind.
Looking back they realized their paths had separated and they were sailing along in separate streams. Amethyst following her own path back into a possible future career, donning her cap as an Operations Manager and Sapphire remaining constant and true to himself and his journey of self discovery, personal understanding and spiritual growth. Having bought a second-hand steel string acoustic guitar and a Canon DSLR 550D camera, Sapphire is slowly rekindling his lost guitar-hero and artistic photographer self.
Amethyst and Sapphire have since recorded their first duet, Imagine by John Lennon and Sapphire has taken a few amazing photographs on his Canon.
Through Sapphire lens………
So by mutual agreement, Amethyst has decided to not get back into the daily grind and to join Sapphire and pursue work online and part time tutoring to pay their way while continuing their journey in search of self.
Amethyst and Sapphire constantly draw energy from each other and it was a somewhat difficult period for Sapphire who sorely missed their time spent together which had dwindled to mere evenings and weekends. In hindsight though, Sapphire needed this time alone to reflect on past experiences and to process things which he had not yet completely dealt with or understood or accepted. As someone said, ‘we are the sum of our experiences’. We have to understand and accept those experiences for what they are. A past experience which has not been understood and accepted cannot add to who we are. It takes away from who we are.
So, as Amethyst’s canoe came rushing and spinning past, an enlightened Sapphire was there to guide the two back to their main stream.
Any experience has its positives and negatives and if they had not been looking to find an apartment near to the school, they would not have found their new home, aptly named ‘Love and Lemongrass’.
They have enjoyed making ‘Love and Lemongrass’ their home and have added a few personal touches. Their water man “Flash”exposing himself for easy access, makes for a good conversational piece.
They have been honored and privileged to be blessed with the most amazing landlords. Sotinnea and Vichot, are a lovely couple who have welcomed our two South Africans with open arms. Their first weekend after moving in was celebrated with a poolside barbecue hosted by the landlords. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet with and introduce themselves to the other tenants in the apartment who range from as far afield as Antoine from Paris, Blake from Australia, Dimple from the Philippines, Sue from Durbanville, South Africa, and Yuki from Japan.
Settling back into a steady stream, Amethyst and Sapphire now have their sights on SOHO (Small Office Home Office). The alcove in their bedroom will be sectioned off and Vichot is already building them desks. With a breath taking view from their office window, both are excited to see what awaits them upstream…………..
