Office for Two…….

After Amethyst decided to join Sapphire in search of on line work, she started visualizing having a home base office at “Love and Lemongrass”.

Both believe that “Visualization” is a powerful tool.  By creating pictures in your mind of seeing yourself with what you want, you are generating thoughts and feelings of having it.  First visualize, then materialize.  The mind does not distinguish between what you are thinking about and what you are doing about, so if you have been there in the mind, you can go there in reality.  In the words of Albert Einstein, “Imagination is everything.  It is the preview of life’s coming attractions”.

After seeing a vivid image of their home office in the alcove of their bedroom, they felt thankful and grateful.  They then released it to the Universe, trusting that the Universe would figure out a way for the home office to manifest itself.

The next few weeks were exciting and fun for Amethyst and Sapphire, watching how their home office changed from what they had imagined to an actual workable office in reality.

After sharing their vision with their landlords  of sectioning off the alcove in their bedroom to create office space, Vichot was eager to get started and to try his hand at turning this space into a workable office.

Before long, Vichot started building moveable room dividers from wooden planks and woven sheets of bamboo which he spray painted in a black gloss paint.  These panels where used to separate the alcove from the rest of the bedroom and as they were on wheels they could be moved into any position.

This very talented man, then used two old sewing tables to make the two most unusual desks.  The foot pedal which turns the  wheel of the sewing machine, are both still in working order.  Placing your feet and rocking the sewing pedal can be quite a good stress reliever……

Amethyst and Sapphire advertised on the local sites for office chairs and after managing to find one good quality 2nd hand chair, they took a Tuk Tuk drive around Siem Reap in search of good quality head sets with microphones and another reasonably priced office chair.

The office for two is now functional and Amethyst and Sapphire are ready to start this new phase of their journey together.

Amethyst and Sapphire are working for the first time in their new home office.  Sitting back to back and working on this blog together really feels so good and the view from the office window is stunning.

No office rules, No office politics, No strict dress code, No official working hours, No traffic, AND a nice ice cold beer at your desk……..

As Sapphire would say, “All will work out just fine in the end…. And if it hasn’t worked out yet, it’s not the END!

We are all spiritual beings experiencing a life of form here on this school called "Earth". I felt that my spirit and soul was being confined living in a western society with all its social norms and pressures. My spirit feels free in Cambodia. I hope that by sharing my experiences with you that you will also grow to love Cambodia as much as I do.

  1. You guys are so creative and so focused in your positivity that you a magnificent inspiration to us all! I know that there are always tough days and anxieties that we don’t know about but with your fantastic attitude you will always come out with a smile on your faces. I must admit that the 2 red chairs in your ‘reception area’ made my knees creak though LOL!

May you continue to grow and be the blessing that you are to those around you – in SR and at home 🙂

    1. Hi Gaye

Thank you so much for those special words. We truly hope that we do inspire others to follow their dreams and to love without limits. I am thoroughly enjoying my new office. I have had a few positive responses and know that the right opportunity will present itself. Since we started planning this journey and putting out to the Universe what are dreams and aspirations are, all has fallen into place in its own weird and wonderful way. Richard and I are reminded daily of how wonderful life can be if one just has the courage to step out of the shackles of society and past programming and believe that you can live the life you want. We give thanks and gratitude every morning along with our affirmations and aspirations. Once we are set up online, the next stage of our journey begins, work and travel. We are happy to have you and a few others on this journey and adventure with us. Thank you for being a regular follower of our Blog. We hope to keep you inspired…………………. Lots of love Mandy and Richard
PS. Jayne is going to be helping me out this week with some props and flashcards for a demo lesson I need to video and forward to LingoKids in support of my online application. She really is a sweetheart….. Just like her Mom xxx

  2. You guys have the best landlord ever! Your office space looks awesome. All set up for productivity on your own terms. Working from home is the best! 🙂

    1. Hi Patti

Moving into this apartment was destined to be. Tinnea and Vichot have become like family. They are absolutely amazing and Vichot is so similar in personality and soul to Richard. Both quite, reserved and deep thinkers who always put others needs before their own. Although Vichot cannot speak English very well, he and Richard just connect. I also get on extremely well with Tinnea.

I have started done extensive research and have already listed over 60 different online companies for teaching English and have started applying. Had my first interview last week with one of the top online companies but as I don’t have a Degree and only 6 months experience they advised that I reapply after I have at least another 6 months experience either in a classroom environment or with teaching online. I have another interview scheduled for next week and have had some positive response to others and am waiting for a confirmed Skype interview time. The rates are good and I can earn more than I was earning in my Operations Management position for only working 5 hours a day Monday to Friday. And from the comfort of home…….. Definitely appeals to me. Thanks for taking the time to read our blog and to comment. When we do a blog page we spend so much time researching and editing photographs etc so it really feels good when someone take the time to read and to comment. Good luck with all your new adventures, business and finding a new home. When we back in SA we will definitely make a plan to come and visit. Take care……… Lots of love. Mandy and Richard.

      1. With corrections…..LOL
